Troubleshooting Sync Problem Between Huawei Health App and Healthy 365 App

I recently bought a Huawei Band 10 from Shopee's flash sale as my latest HPB watch broke (the side of the face holding the strap and I couldn't remedy it). The watch looked really pretty and user -friendly, it synced efficiently with the Huawei Health App so I thought setting it up with the Healthy 365 App would be a breeze too. Boy I was wrong, my step count data refused to sync between the Huawei Health app and the Healthy 365 app on my Oppo Android phone. I tried reinstalling the apps and tried different sequence of set up, but with no luck. Frustrated, I emailed HPB, and they shared a troubleshooting guide that explained what was going on and how to sort it out. If you’re stuck with the same syncing issue, you’re definitely not the only one — here's the guide to save you some time and sanity.

Healthy 365 integrates with a wide range of fitness devices and health platforms, including:

---------------
If Huawei Health is not syncing properly, follow the steps below:

Step 1: Restore Your Healthy 365 Profile
Start with a clean reset of the Healthy 365 app.
Uninstall the Healthy 365 app.
Android users only: Clear the app cache.
Reinstall the app to the latest version:
iOS: Version 7.4.1
Android: Version 7.4.2
Launch the app and restore your profile by following the on-screen instructions.

Step 2: Check Huawei Health Settings
To ensure Huawei Health can share data correctly with Healthy 365, verify the following:
Enable Huawei Health Kit
Make sure data sharing to “Huawei Health Kit” is enabled.
This setting may be off by default, so double-check it.
Confirm Device Pairing
Ensure your Huawei watch or fitness tracker is properly paired with the Huawei Health app.
Only compatible HUAWEI wearable devices or trackers can sync data to Healthy 365.
Grant All Permissions
Allow all required permissions so Healthy 365 can access fitness and health data from Huawei Health.

Step 3: Verify Your Huawei Account Region (Critical)
Due to data security policies, only Huawei accounts registered in Singapore can sync with Healthy 365.
How to Check Your Huawei Account Region
Open Huawei AppGallery
Tap Me
Tap your Huawei ID (top left)
Scroll down and tap About
Confirm the region is set to Singapore
Gallery Zone must also be Singapore
If Your Account Is Not Registered in Singapore, you may need to delete your current Huawei account ID
Recreate a new Huawei account and ensure it is registered in Singapore

Step 4: Pair Huawei Health with Healthy 365
Once your apps and account are set correctly, re-pair your fitness tracker:
Open Healthy 365
Go to the Profile tab
Tap My Fitness Tracker → Change tracker
Select Other fitness apps
Choose Huawei Health

Important Sync Order
Always open Huawei Health first and sync your wearable data.
Then, open Healthy 365 to allow it to pull the latest fitness records from Huawei Health.

Final Tips

It may take a day of two for the apps to sync (not hours). Perhaps what I did was right all along, just that I didn't realize the Apps needed a day to communicate.

If the steps count after syncing are not showing correctly, go to App Management --> App Info for Huawei Health app and disable Access to Physical Activities. This feature is to merge data between phone's step count and the watch, disabling that will draw data only from the watch. Go back to Huawei Health app and manually sync the data, then open Healthy 365 app and sync the data again. It should then reflect the correct steps count. MVPA and sleep data will also sync automatically.

The best credit card for my new house renovation

As updated in my previous post, I have finally bought my own place. For the past few months I have been busy coordinating with various contractors and vendors for my house renovation. As I am still on A flexi work schedule, I decided to be my own ID. With only a simple renovation plan in mind, I set my reno budget at $20,000 (aircon & fixtures inclusive). The renovation process and acting as my own ID were not as easy as I thought. It took me about a month to gather and compare quotations from different contractors and another few weeks to finalize all the things that I need my chosen contractor to do. I eventually settled for a main contractor who specializes in carpentry work but also provides painting, tiling and electrical services. I have grossly underestimated the amount of defects that need fixing for this resale flat. Fortunately, the floor tiles and some of the existing built-ins are still in good condition so I kept them, otherwise I would have burst my budget. The first ...

Reflections for year 2024

2024 has been a relatively peaceful year. So peaceful that I have read countless novels and other books, met my sports buddies almost every weekend and picked up horticulture. Physical and mental health As we say, health is wealth. I have stuck fairly consistently with my exercise regime and tried to include more fruits and vegetables in my meals (although I eat out more and cook less these days). My weight, BP and cholesterol levels are doing ok. For those 40 years and above, remember to get your  subsidized health screenings from the government . Working less and meeting up with friends more contributed to an improved mental health. I see that the government has stepped up on initiatives in the community but work place initiatives from employers still seemed lackluster, especially for those who can't WFH and need to commit 44 hours or more a week at frontline work. I have also started a Gratitude journey to celebrate all my little life milestones. Financials Investment wise ...

Shit happens and I lost my low-hanging fruits

My POSB SAYE account just hit its 25th month —the much-anticipated “month of maturity.” I was all ready to enjoy the 3.5% bonus interest I’d patiently saved for… only to receive a measly $17+ cash gift instead of a few hundred dollars. I was about to send a message to query the bank what caused this interest drop versus what I have gotten on the 13th month. Confused, I double checked my account history and— gasp! —found a single $50 transfer I’d made to a joint account in one of the past months. I hadn’t even realized that I’d chosen the SAYE account as the fund transfer source. For those unfamiliar with the T&Cs of POSB SAYE: “To receive the additional 3.5% p.a. Cash Gift Interest, ensure that you do not make any withdrawal from your POSB SAYE account.”   “If a withdrawal is made in the month, this will result in the previously accumulated additional 3.5% p.a. interest to be forfeited.” Yes, one tiny transfer = months of bonus interest gone . Even depositing it back the...
